On our way to canada we had a few days in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. I have been to both places before but as a kid and i don't really remember much except for one horrifying sight. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Hollywood and as we arrived at the hotel and there was a rather large lady covered in tats and had a giant beard! We later found out that the Holiday Inn was hosting the Biker Tattoo and Piercing convention.
This time was much better. The drive from the airport to our hotel was quite interesting on several fronts, It was my first time ever driving on the wrong side of the road(Driving on the right) and some of the random suburbs the GPS took us through. Little Ethiopia was one of the more interesting ones. But nothing was mega bad.
Our hotel was in west hollywood which is fairly close to all the action. The hotel was called Farmers Daughter. It use to be an old dirty apartment black but they have made it into a funky boutique motel. It was walking distance from Melrose Ave where they had awesome stores including RVCA, Supreme, Crooks & Castles, DC, Kid Robot, Atticus. I picked up some nice new shirts for WAY less than you would pay in aus.

Our Hotel in LA
Spray paint/paint pen tagging has been taken over by sticker tagging in LA.
On our first night in LA we went for a stroll down Hollywood Blvd to see the sights and sounds. It was just as cheesy and kitsch as you would expect. Megan found an awesome little Italian restaurant called Miceli's. It has been used in quite a few movies like knocked up. The food was great(Best we had the whole time we were in the States) but HUGE. I got the Chicken parma which came with a side of spaghetti the size of a normal serving in aus. The decor was really cool, every bottle of Chianti wine they sold they kept and the buyer of the bottle got to write stuff on it, then they hung it from the roof.
Here are random pics from Hollywood Blvd.
Scientology building right on Hollywood blvd so the stars can finish a premier and then pray or what ever scientology people do. We didn't see Tom Cruise or John Travolta in there.
Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Arnie for President!!!
